They played the overbearing mothers of the main characters in A Bad Moms Christmas.

But now Susan Sarandon, 72, Christine Baranski, 66, and Cheryl Hines, 53, are returning to the franchise for their own starring vehicle, Bad Moms’ Moms.

The upcoming sequel to the original Bad Moms was announced Tuesday by STX Films at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

The three starring actresses were absent from the first film in the series, Bad Moms, but they made enough of an impression in the holiday-themed sequel to justify their own film.

Though the new film will focus on the grandmother characters, there’s no word yet if the original stars will return.

The previous films were led by Mila Kunis, 35, Kristen Bell, 38, and Kathryn Hahn, 45.

The chairman of STX Films, Adam Fogelson, called the new film, ‘A whole new adventure that is attracting all sorts of great talent.’

It’s unclear if by ‘great talent,’ he’s only referring to the esteemed actress already set to star, or if more leading figures will be added.

At one point, Bad Moms’ Moms would have been the fourth film in the series about misbehaving parents. A Bad Dads film was announced in Fall 2016, but nothing ever came of the project.

STX also briefly considered some form of unscripted reality television program that would loosely be related to the series of films, but that also seems to have been jettisoned.

The media company’s presentation at the Vegas-based industry show also included from a new Diane Keaton comedy called Poms, in which the Annie Hall star will as a woman who moves into a retirement community but wants to relive her teen years as a cheerleader.

There are also two new films in the works starring Marvel movie mainstays. Black Panther’s Chadwick Boseman will star in the thriller 21 Bridges, and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista will lead the comedy My Spy.
